In China,Human Cost Are Built Into an Ipad

The article I’ve read from the New York Times “In China, Human Cost Are Built Into an iPad” has changed my entire outlook on the Apple Company . The main idea of this article is to inform people how hard workers work  in the process of assembling iPods, iPads and other Apple devices and accessories, work under harsh conditions, an unsafe working environment and lack of safety equipment. This article includes quotes from plant works and safety and health experts. One thing that I found remarkable was that employees would work 24 hour shifts and would stand all day until their legs swelled up. This is just a prime example how they were not treated with respect or any consideration.
As I stated before this article has changed my outlook on the Apple company. Before, I had this idea that Apple was a good company and that they were the best out there. And now I know they have to change the work environment that they provide to their workers or people may just boycott /protest their supplies when this news gets around. I believe this is an important topic because there is a lot of people buying Apple products and they might second think their choice when people find out about how they’re treating their works. If people began to protest and stand up against Apple I believe Apple will make their buildings safer and treat employees better.                                                                                                                           This article makes me think that many companies go to China and build factories because they know that Chinese people would work under those harsh conditions and they know that Americans won’t stand for that. If they fight for themselves and have to speak out against the way they have been treated I know they could make a difference.
