Photoshopped or Not ? A Tool to Tell

The main idea of the article "Photoshopped or Not ? A Tool to Tell" is really just saying how scientist have came up with way of finding out whether or not photos have been altered and what has been altered. And most people believe if it is false advertisement to sell perfect models, convincing them they want be beautiful until they look a certain way even though they don’t even look like that. In this article they say with photoshop you can, “fix one thing, then another and pretty soon you end up with barbie” meaning if you edit too much soon you won’t look like yourself.

I think that when you advertise these photos with beautiful, flawless models it sends a bad message to young ladies that lack necessary confidence. Not only are you telling them that if they buy a certain beauty poduct or outfit  and get their hair done a certain way they’ll be beauty when truth is the person they’re striving to become doesn’t even exist. This reminds of this movie I seen starring Monique and she was overweight and she tried so hard to be a stick figure like the models on posters and in magazines.

Reading this article made me think about when I was at my old school and when we learned about propaganda they showed us a video of a model at her photoshoot and then showed all the editing they did on her photo to make it really “glamorous.”
